Introduction to Ensemble

In this workshop we introduce the idea of ensemble work in live theatre, with a focus on comedy. Through examples and discussion, we explore how performers build trust, timing, and how collaboration and connection between actors create sharper jokes, bigger laughs, and more memorable moments for an audience.

1. They must be able to trust and support each other as they work towards the common goal of making the audience laugh.
2. Comedy means playing with each other in a supportive environment where you are free to make mistakes.
3. Those mistakes can make the ensemble laugh and therefore can become important creative material.
